Released in 1989, “Beyond the Stars” follows a teenager whose fascination with space exploration leads him to seek out a reclusive former astronaut—one of the few men to walk on the Moon. As their unlikely friendship develops, the young man becomes increasingly intrigued by the astronaut’s secretive behavior and the strange isolation he’s maintained since returning to Earth. Set against the backdrop of real space history, this sci-fi drama blends personal ambition with cosmic mystery in a quietly reflective story about discovery, obsession, and what might lie beyond our own stars.
